Please can you tell me what breed your cat is? I have a 3 month old kitten which is pure grey (blue-grey) and at present has very bluey-grey eyes. Were your cat’s eyes this colour at 3 months?

Pure gray kittens often have blue/gray eyes until about 3 to 4 months. The cat in this picture is extremely rare and I’m sure your cat is going to have green eyes like most gray cats. I’ve never seen a gray cat with blue eyes before. Didn’t even know they existed. This cat isn’t a purebred, but a mix. This is where you get your most unusual and beautiful cats from

I’ve done some research on this… Blue eyed kitties are nearly always part-siamese. The closest purebred you will get to a solid gray with blue eyes is a solid-type Tonkinese that develops blue eyes (the solid Tonks usually have green eyes). Russian Blues have green eyes and Korats have orange-gold eyes. It is a rare and lucky find if you have a solid grey kitty with beautiful blue eyes. I was lucky enough to spend the last 15 1/2 years with 2 red-lynx point siameezers. Gazing into the eyes of any blue-eyed kitty is like a rare glimpse into Heaven’s windows.

I have a dark blueish-gray cats with blue eyes. His name is Shelf-kitty, because he stayed on a shelf for several weeks after my girlfriend adopted him. He was spayed and declawed (front) when he appeared unexpectedly at her work. He is extremely friendly, almost to the point of being a nuisance and he always sleeps on my bed. I love him, but I have been trying to figure out his exact breed. I wanted to say Korat, but his eyes are blue. that’s as far as I have gotten.
